Colorado Submits 160000 Signatures for Marijuana Legalization

Would collecting signatures for to legalize medical marijuana hurt my career?

It seems like it would, but I am curious about other’s opinions. I am finishing college and seeking employment as an accountant. I think that marijuana should be legal for cancer patients and for people with glacoma and cateracts to use as it eases their suffering. Why should a cancer patient have to endure constant nausea and vomiting during chemotherapy when something so simple and affordable could prevent it?
I think doctors are afraid to endorse medical marijuana for the same reason. Also, mm would reduce their kickbacks from prescription drugs. What do you think?
